Known as the Doc at Anfield for the medication he carried 'just in case' - much to the amusement of team mates

Not surprising given the injury he sustained playing for Ipswich away at Lazio back in the day of hideous Italian fouling
Took a thunderous and deliberate kick from behind, between the legs and impacting the perineum and splitting his scrotum, top to bottom

That aside, a great player and by all reports a top bloke
RIP

Scored a brace on my first ever England game at Wembley... 78 v the Argies... very under rated player... part of probably the best club side I have seen (late 70's early 80's red scouse)
